On February 14, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) announced plans for a special trading session on March 2, incorporating an intra-day switch over to its disaster recovery site. The objective of this initiative is to fortify the exchange’s resilience in the face of any unforeseen events that could disrupt its normal operations.

According to NSE, this special trading session will encompass both the equity and equity derivatives segments. In a circular issued on Wednesday, NSE stated, “Members are requested to note that Exchange shall be conducting a special live trading session with intra-day switch over from Primary site to Disaster Recovery site on Saturday, March 02, 2024, in Equity and Equity Derivatives segments.”

The session will be divided into two parts. The first trading session is scheduled from 9:15 am to 10 am, while the second session will run from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.

Originally planned for January 20, the special session had to be postponed due to the Ram Temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya. Consequently, a full-fledged trading session was conducted on January 20, and January 22 was declared a holiday for equity markets.

During the March 2 session, securities already subject to a 2 percent or lower price band will continue to remain within their respective bands.
