Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative Ltd (IFFCO), a leading player in the fertiliser industry, has retained its position as the top cooperative among the top 300 cooperatives globally, according to a statement released on Thursday.
The ranking is determined by the ratio of turnover to Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita, highlighting IFFCO’s significant contribution to the nation’s GDP and economic growth.
The 12th Annual World Cooperative Monitor (WCM) report published by the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA) provides the basis for this ranking, emphasizing the correlation between enterprise turnover and national wealth.
IFFCO has also seen an improvement in its overall turnover ranking, climbing to 72nd position from 97th in the previous financial year.
Commenting on this achievement, IFFCO MD Uday Shankar Awasthi expressed pride in the organization’s accomplishment, stating, “It is a proud moment for us at IFFCO and the Indian Cooperative Movement as well. At IFFCO, we are always committed towards the mission of increasing farmers’ income, ensuring wholesome growth of farmers across the nation, and strengthening the cooperative movement.”
Awasthi further highlighted IFFCO’s dedication to innovation, particularly in agriculture, with the introduction of nanotechnology-based solutions such as IFFCO nano liquid urea.
