Ride-hailing company Ola Mobility is set to roll out 10,000 electric two-wheelers in three cities within the next two months, with plans to expand the service nationwide by the end of the year. The announcement comes following the launch of Ola’s e-bike service in Delhi and Hyderabad, following a pilot project initiated in Bangalore in September 2023.

Ola aims to position itself as a key player in the electric vehicle (EV) space, declaring its intent to deploy 10,000 e-vehicles in Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore over the next two months. This move positions Ola with the largest EV two-wheeler fleet in the country, and it plans to further scale up its e-bike services across India by the end of the year.

The pricing strategy for Ola’s e-bike service is designed to be competitive and attractive to consumers, with rates starting at ₹25 for 5 kilometers, ₹50 for 10 kilometers, and ₹75 for 15 kilometers. Ola Mobility’s CEO, Hemant Bakshi, emphasized the significance of electrification as a means to enhance affordability in the mobility sector. The success of the e-bike taxi pilot in Bangalore demonstrated a sustainable value proposition for consumers, drivers, and Ola itself, prompting the company to move forward with mass deployments in Bangalore, Delhi, and Hyderabad.

Ola has already achieved over 1.75 million rides, and to support its growing e-bike fleet, the company has established 200 charging stations in Bangalore. Ola’s broader growth strategy includes a focus on ride-hailing, financial services, logistics, and e-commerce.
