As monsoon season approaches, the Electric Two-Wheeler (E2W) industry is already experiencing a downpour of discounts. Following price cuts by industry players like Ola Electric, Ather Energy, and Okaya EV, another Electric Vehicle (EV) startup, Bounce Infinity, has made one of its e-scooters more affordable by slashing its price by 21 percent.

Backed by Sequoia Capital, Bounce Infinity has announced a significant price reduction of Rs 24,000 on its E1+ range of e-scooters. Effective immediately, the E1+ variant will be available at a reduced price of Rs 89,999 (ex-showroom) until March 31.

Anil G, COO, and Co-Founder of Bounce Infinity, stated in an official release, “This significant price reduction reflects our dedication to addressing consumer needs for affordability, performance, and ease of use. Our scooters offer features like portable batteries and chargers for charging, extended range, and smart connectivity, all at a price point that truly democratises electric mobility.”

However, the prices of other electric scooters from Bounce Infinity, such as the E1 LE and E1, remain unchanged, priced at Rs 1,08,064 and Rs 1,04,999 respectively.

Bounce Infinity, headquartered in Bangalore, asserts that its e-scooters are equipped with a 2.2 kW peak power motor, offering a top speed of 65 kmph. Additionally, they feature 2 kWh lithium-ion NMC batteries certified as per the latest IAS 156 battery standard, delivering a range of over 85 km, according to the company’s claims.

The unique selling proposition of Bounce Infinity EV lies in its removable batteries, which can be charged using any 15 Amp wall socket, resembling the charging process of a cell phone. The company also highlights industry-leading liquid-cooled battery technology for optimal performance and durability in various weather conditions, alongside features like quick charging and extended range to address common concerns about electric vehicles.

In recent developments, Ola Electric, led by Bhavish Aggarwal, slashed the prices of its electric scooters by up to Rs 25,000 until the end of February, garnering 10,000 bookings within three days of the announcement. Ather Energy also reduced the price of its 450S model by Rs 20,000, and Okaya EV announced discounts of up to Rs 18,000 on all its electric vehicle models until February 29, with electric scooter prices now starting at Rs 74,899.
