Renewable solutions provider Suzlon Group announced on Tuesday that it has won a 642-MW wind power project from Evren company ABC Cleantech Private Limited (ACPL). Evren, a joint venture between Brookfield and Axis Energy in India, is partnering with Suzlon to install 214 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower, each having a rated capacity of 3 MW, in Andhra Pradesh.
Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman of Suzlon Group, expressed the company’s commitment to supporting Evren in expanding its green energy portfolio and contributing to India’s renewable energy objectives. This significant order marks Suzlon’s first collaboration with Evren, which aims to build over 6 GW of renewable energy assets in the next 2-3 years in resource-rich states in India.
JP Chalasani, CEO of Suzlon Group, highlighted the positive impact of the project, estimating that it could supply electricity to approximately 5.28 lakh households and reduce around 20.87 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually.
Under the agreement, Suzlon will handle equipment supply, installation, and commissioning of the wind turbines. Additionally, Suzlon will provide comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning. Suman Kumar, CEO of Evren, expressed delight in partnering with Suzlon Energy for this venture, emphasizing their shared commitment to developing and operating a high-quality clean energy portfolio in India.
